They have also explored the process of collage using differing materials such as sand, maps, cellophanes, tissue paper etc. to create group and individual pieces as well as creating individual pop up cards.
Social Skills
In Toucan Class, we spend a lot of time working on developing our turn taking and communication skills. We learn how to play games with each other, we help each other to play fairly and we practise our Maths skills. We have made brilliant progress, lots of pupils can now play the games without any adult help.
Phonics
Toucan Class have worked so hard on their phonics and have been putting their efforts into practise with in their reading and their writing. All children have made progress with their sound recognition as well as writing tricky words and cvc words. Everyone thought it was very funny to use their skills to write their own silly sentences!
Maths
We have been learning about using money. Pupils have been identifying coins, adding up different amounts and role playing shops. Here is Finley, in charge of the fish and chip shop, serving the customers and working out the total of the bill!
