All about us

Ladybird class is based at our site at Parkside Community Primary School. As a team we strive to provide a caring and secure environment where the children can feel safe to explore, investigate and learn through first hand experiences.
We follow the EYFS curriculum which is broken down into three prime areas of learning and development and four specific areas.
 

The Prime areas are:
Communication and Language
Listening, Attention & Understanding, Attention Autism, Curiosity Programme, Intensive Interaction, PECs, Aided Language boards, What’s in the bag? Makaton and Objects of reference 
Personal Social and Emotional Development
Self-regulation, managing self and building relationships.
Physical Development
Gross Motor and Fine Motor Skills 

The Specific areas area:
Literacy 
Early reading skills, Phonological awareness, Mark making, BLANK levels.
Mathematics
Number and Shape, Space and Measure
Understanding of the World
Past and present, People Culture & Communities and The Natural World.
Expressive Arts and Design
Creating with materials and Being Imaginative & Expressive

Our curriculum planning allows the children to take part in both child initiated and adult led learning activities. We use both the indoor and outdoor environments to provide opportunities for exploring and children to be actively involved in their learning.
