Introduction

Hello and welcome to Tiger Class.

We are a mixed KS1 and KS2 class and we follow the Cedar Pathway curriculum. In Tiger Class; our main focus is to develop our skills through communication and attention, physical development, social emotional and mental health, and cognition learning and we do this best by exploring a variety of multi-sensory experiences. We are an extremely lovable, friendly and cheeky class and we look forward to sharing some of our latest news with you.

The characteristics of effective learning are embedded throughout our ethos in Tiger Class; playing and exploring, active learning and creating and thinking critically which contribute to the children being able to engage, enjoy and make use of their time learning

In Tiger Class we focus on our communication and interaction in all aspects of our learning; these include snack/lunch time, group learning in Maths and English sessions, topic-based lessons such as sensory stories and Sensology and opportunities to take part in community-learning. In Tiger Class; we will also have a large focus on our physical development through programmes such as: MOVE, Active Ed and Physical Education. We really enjoy ending our day in Tiger Class, by celebrating our achievements - we get super excited to find out who the Tiger of the Day is!

By the end of Reception, Alana will have developed her independence skills so that she can engage in an activity with minimal adult supervision and minimal distress for 1-2 minutes.

News updates

We have had a fantastic start to the school year, everyone has settled into class well and the class have shown a love for our attention autism sessions. Tigers are enjoying their weekly forest school sessions and have been exploring, hunting animals in the woods, creating mud faces on trees, singing and playing on the playpark. Our topic this term is relationships and we have been looking closely at friendships. In Maths we have been working with shapes and of course our work on communication runs through everything we do in class. We have been reading the books Owl babies, Rainbow fish and Autumn leaves falling.
