Class Introduction

Hello and welcome to Knox Class. We are a Key Stage 3 class for pupils on the Cedar Pathway. The curriculum is delivered in a multi-sensory, creative way, taking into account the pupils individual Engagement Profiles, which will enable pupils to access their learning through a holistic approach.  Pupils follow individual programmes and access differentiated interventions according to their level of need. We have a large class team who help provide a personalised education programme centred around EHCP targets, pupils personal interest, independent living skills and physical development needs.

Rosie Purnell and Verity Thornhill are the class teachers and can be contacted by email or through phoning through to the school office.

We always encourage shared reading for pleasure, so let us know what stories you have shared and enjoyed so we can post recommendations.

News

In Term 5 we will be having weekly sensory drama sessions with the wonderful Anita

In May, we have a couple of visits to Canterbury Bowls to watch some of their games pencilled in. They are just up the road from us and a lovely part of our local community.

In Term 6 we will be going to Forest School once a week and we might also try and fit in a trip to beach as part of our seaside focus.

Documents/Home Learning

As our focus is on the seaside, if you head to the beach, it would be lovely if you could send in some photos of the things you get up to and any sensory items that you pick up from your visit would be wonderful to share with the class.

As well as this focus, we will also be learning about different celebrations that happen at this time of year, celebrating birthdays and any our personal successes and achievements. If would be lovely if you could share any personal achievements you children make at home.

For use at home, here are also a couple links that we think the children might enjoy:

BBC Daydreams - Peaceful Dolphins

BBC - A Day at the Beach
