The ethos of Forest Schools is to allow students the time and space to develop skills, interest and understanding through a range of activities which provide practical, hands-on experiences in a natural environment. Kelly, our Forest Schools tutor, leads sessions for students at Ross woods throughout the week.

During this wonderful time of year we will be focusing on habitats along with flora and fauna for the season. Students will experience the changing scenes within the woodland environment such as the bluebells, the blooming of the trees to enable identification.  Looking at how the woodland grows and renews its self where trees have been coppiced for timber. We will be looking at wildlife identifications such as birds, insects including the rare and endangered The Heath Fritillary Butterfly.
