Can I thank you all for your understanding and support when we had to make the decision to close the school for four days. Whilst we tried to keep open it was clear that the disruption and the dangers that the snow and ice created were too great for that to happen. It is five years since the school has had to close in similar circumstances and so thankfully it is a rare occurrence.
We are near the end of the financial year and are looking at setting a budget for the next. The situation with school funding is still challenging and we are doing our best to maintain our high standards and provide the very best education we can to your children. The wonderful efforts of the PTFA are helping to continue the developments we want to make to the playground areas with their tremendous fund raising efforts. It is clear though that we will have to look closely at our spending and make cuts where we can. I will provide you with more information in the next newsletter.
There are some new data protection regulations coming into force shortly and we will be asking you to compete some new forms that detail how you would like data about your child to be managed. We are preparing these now and planning that you will receive them after Easter.
As we move towards Easter I look forward to seeing you at the events then and hope the weather will be more spring like.
