Dear Parents and Carers
Over the weekend we learnt that two members of staff in our secondary satellite provision based on the campus of Canterbury Academy had tested positive. We have followed the advice provided by the Health Protection team, the Local Authority and in line with our risk assessment we have closed those classes as they count as one 'bubble'. Thank you for your understanding and support at this time.
The Local Authority have alerted us to the necessity to prepare for the possibilities of both adverse weather this winter but also disruption on the roads following Brexit at the end of this year. We are monitoring the weather forecasts and should we need to take action as a consequence of snow or ice we will use the school website, texts and the Kent School Closures website to alert you of any wider school closure. Similarly should we be in a position in January where the road congestion is such to prevent pupils or staff from getting to Canterbury or returning home will again alert you using the same communication channels. There may also be issues with the delivery of food and essential services which could impact on our safe operation. Again as we gain further information I will update you.
Best wishes
