Dear Parents and Carers
Welcome to the first school newsletter of the year I hope you have all had a good summer and were able to enjoy the good weather we had.
The school term has started very positively as we welcomed 27 new children and young people into the school. We also have two new teachers and six new classroom assistants to add to the excitement.
The new MUGA (multi use games area) has been built and is now being enjoyed by the children in their break and lunch times. I would like to extend my thanks to the PTFA for their amazing fund raising efforts. There will be an official opening of the area on Wednesday 26 September.
We finished last term with an inspection visit from OFSTED who confirmed that we are still a good school providing a safe and positive learning environment for all of our children and young people. Their letter is on our website and also on the official OFSTED website. We were pleased that it highlighted the successes of the school and the commitment and dedication of the staff. We must now look at ways of improving our communication with yourselves, parents and carers, before their next visit. We agreed that this was an important focus and I shall use this newsletter to keep you up to date on what we are doing.
We have a vacancy at the moment for another parent-governor and I have attached the application form to this newsletter. The governors play an essential role in the running of the school ensuring that the school’s standards are high, that the finances are appropriately used and that we are always looking to improve.
Can I remind you how important your contributions of £5 are to the Voluntary Fund which helps us towards the costs of a whole range of activities that enrich the children’s education experience.
